We love this bill! Way to go, Idaho!

P.S. We commented on an earlier version of this bill in a Substack note that we sent to legislators (https://substack.com/profile/68304299-big-e/note/c-219987987). Excerpt:

"Geez, we wish we had learned all the material covered in this bill during our eons-ago public school education! How much better equipped we would have been to live life in America and properly understand our country’s origins, founding, and opportunity to continue as a true republic and shining beacon for all American citizens.

To be a good citizen, one must “cultivate the virtue and knowledge necessary for self-government,” and that means knowing our history and living the values that make our country the best in the world, despite its many flaws. Our flaws likely would be far fewer if every school kid received the kind of education outlined in S1336."

This sounds wonderful. I applaud Idaho for passing Senate Bill 1336 and for Rep. Erhardt for presenting it. It gives me hope.

Today, Idaho's students test nationally at level 40 of 50 States according to "CRITICAL THINKING ABOUT K - 12 EDUCATION." This is unacceptable.

I urge all Legislators, as well as Idaho residents, to check out "the Mississippi Miracle." Learn how that State, which was chronically LAST in every survey on education, with a habit of simply passing student on to the next grade anyway, changed it all and now they sit at number 16 in the Nation! AND THEY DID NOT DO IT WITH MORE MONEY!!! Read that again -- $$$$$ did not fix their problems! If Mississippi can do it, Idaho can, too! Sounds like we may be off to a good start.
